The Gainesville real estate market continues to chug along despite the challenges presented by COVID-19. Although 23% fewer homes were sold in April compared to 2019, median sales price continued its upward trend. Median sales price of homes in Gainesville and Alachua County increased 4.5% in April to $244,995, compared to a median sales price of $234,350 in April 2019. The Oakmont neighborhood in southwest Gainesville is hosting its first-ever slacker run on Saturday, April 4th, 2020, from 11 AM to 2 PM. The .4K fundraiser run (that’s POINT 4K, not 4K) benefits the Child Advocacy Center of Gainesville, which specializes in therapy for abused children in the local community.
